Advantages and features of bimetallic saw blades

Today, bimetallic blades are considered the most in demand and popular among the entire range of saws designed for metal cutting.

Today, bimetallic metal saws are considered the most in demand and popular among the entire range of saws designed for metal cutting.

The basis of these saws is spring steel, and their cutting part is high—speed steel.

In accordance with the method of application, band saws are designed for cutting solid and profile products made of stainless, tool and structural steels, as well as alloys and non-ferrous metals.

Depending on the durability and hardness, such saws come in two types — M51 and M42.

M51 is a tungsten—cobalt steel characterized by excellent wear resistance.

Such high-speed steel is used during cutting of high-strength alloy materials, mainly medium-sized solid-section workpieces on machines with adjustable and constant cutting modes.

The hardness is 69 HRC.

M42 is a molybdenum—cobalt steel characterized by excellent wear resistance.

Hardness is 67-69 HRC.

The shape of the teeth of the saw blades 1.

Effective metal cutting with low vibration depends on the shape of the teeth.

In turn, the shape of the teeth depends on the mechanical properties and qualities of the sawn products.

One example is a saw blade with a special Tooth Protector.

Such a saw is designed for cutting profile materials.

If the front angle of the teeth is 0°, the saw can be used for cutting: cast iron and tool steels; steels with high carbon levels; thin-walled profiles; workpieces with small cross sections.

If the front angle of the teeth is positive, the saw can be used for cutting: various alloys and steels; non-ferrous metals; blanks in a package; profile and solid materials.

2.

The tooth layout is necessary to prevent the tape from jamming during sawing.

The type and width of the wiring is affected by the involved tooth pitch of the tape.

3.

The pitch of the tape tooth is equal to the number of cutting teeth per inch.

4.

A constant tooth pitch is used to cut solid material.

5.

Variable pitch can be used during cutting of both solid and profile materials.

In addition, the use of such a step significantly increases the efficiency of the process of cutting workpieces of variable cross-section.

It also allows you to reduce the vibration level.
