The algorithm for preparing an electric and gasoline sawmill for operation is practically the same.
Before starting the gasoline sawmill, an adjustment gasket must be installed.
It is placed under the cushions of the gasoline engine in such a way that the engine can then be tilted in a convenient direction.
A brief plan for preparing the band sawmill for operation
- Check the distance between the sides of the rollers and the back when installing the saw.
The gap should be the same for both rollers and should not exceed 2-3 mm.
- Check how the saw is positioned on the driven and drive pulleys.
- Pay special attention to the tension of the saw.
To avoid rupture of the technique and non-perpendicular cutting, set the tension force specified in the instructions.
- Before using the band sawmill, pay attention to the pulley belts and rollers.
There should be no breaks, damages or excessive sticking of sawdust on the belts.
Make sure that there are also no traces of mining on the surface of the rollers.
- Check the lubrication of the friction elements and the degree of tightening of the threaded connections.
Also, before turning on the sawmill, find out the reliability of the fastening elements and compare the appearance of the equipment with the images in the instructions.
- Check the fastening strength of the V-belt transmission and the band saw housings.
- Pay special attention to running in the canvas before work.
First, run the new saw at idle for 15-20 minutes.
After that, you can test the equipment under load.
- After turning on the electric motor, make sure that the band saw moves without jerks and any defects.
- Do not rush with the process of entering the saw – it should occur with a smooth increase in speed and taking into account the type of wood.
Pay attention to the recommended clamps.
After such a break, you can start sharpening.
When the sawmill cannot be used
- If you find deep cuts left by the abrasive wheel.
Change the abrasive wheels on time and do not skimp on this – untimely replacement of the part can lead to rupture of the circle and injury from its fragments.
- Do not use the equipment if the grinding machine head is installed incorrectly.
In this case, the tape makes undulating movements due to an insufficient groove, which prevents the ejection of very small sawdust.
- You should not start using a band sawmill if you notice burns, bumps, depressions or burrs on the surface of the equipment.
