Lubrication and cooling fluids are multicomponent substances of liquid consistency designed to cool and lubricate machined parts and cutting tools in the technological process of machining parts.
The use of coolant increases the working life of tools and equipment and improves the technical characteristics of the treated surfaces.
In addition to their basic functions, they protect parts from corrosion and abrasive particles.
Types of lubricants and coolants:
- mineral–based oils - include complex additives
- water–based emulsions - consist of a variety of components
- concentrated aqueous solutions containing surfactants and polymers
Almost all types of mechanical processing of metal workpieces are unthinkable without the use of these substances.
The liquid reduces the temperature of the treated surface, reduces the wear of cutting tools and removes processing waste.
All coolant must be environmentally friendly products, comply with sanitary standards and do not harm humans.
Economic characteristics are very important: price and resource of use.
They determine the final cost of processing parts.
The choice of lubricants and coolants When choosing a coolant, you should pay attention to the following product characteristics:
- chemical and physical properties of the liquid, its composition
- anticorrosive properties
- absence of negative impact on the elements of the equipment: rubber products, plastic parts, automation, etc.
- stability of the composition during operation
